 I started working with digital engine management systems in the early 80's. We hacked the chip to make it possible to tune the engine. We're in the Silicon Valley.

 didn't know anything about software back in the day and the computer science guy knew something about software. It's inexpressible like the current ones are. We literally took half the chip and change all the numbers by 10

 variable valve lift, variable cam timing, variable ignition timing, and variable cam timing all work together to compensate for the fact that engines only have one spot to peak torque.

 I love the fact that race cars are so much more complicated than street cars. The amount of work and testing that goes into a race car engine is insane. And the fact that you can make tiny little adjustments to every part of it
